Your First Ever Post on TheNakedScientists?
« on: 01/04/2008 18:52:02 »
What was your first ever post on TheNakedScientists?

Mine was:

A Sampling Frame, which you use in Biology.

It's usually 50x50 and it is used to place on something, such as a field, and its like a metal frame. Within the frame, you count how many and what type of living things there are, and you repeat this process lots of times, to estimate the population size in a large study area.

But, I'm not sure what the scientific name for this is. The Sampling Frame.

Someone help me out here? Thanks

It seems so very daft.. LOL!!

And in your case..

I haven't got a clue of the maths etc involved but I like the idea. It would make 1 hell of a weapon too!

Good luck with it.

Seems to be your first ever post!

I don't think that's right. My first ever contact with TNS was sending a text to the radio show about mosaicism. I'm sure my first ever post here was on the same subject.

"The JWST is only going to be a one million miles from earth, so no need to worry." this was mine, pure rubbish as usual, and I have no idea what it was about.

Since then my posts have gone steadily downhill.

my first post was a topic that I had had burning inside my head for quite some time before I joined the forum, here it is:

Quote
as the newest member of this forum, i'd like to propose a theory of mine.

if nuclear fusion in the sun is done by the center of atoms touching, releasing energy and making heavier elements, and black holes are the most dense things in the universe, would it mean black holes use fusion too?  it is possible, because the black hole would just bring in the light that it releases, and possibly suck in heat as well.

in Beyond the Cosmos by Dr. Hugh Ross, he mentions an Ultranova, which is a powerful explosion that would of blown us away if it were in the same half of our galaxy.  could an Ultranova be the death of a black hole?  is it possible, since the black hole is so dense, that when it dies, things might possibly go faster than light?

something to chew on for you  [:)]

Yep... there was the zeta thread and the gallery of rogues.. kind of meant for before and after shots of people..... It was a good support network for anyone trying to loose some pounds.. diet exercise etc.. I went that way rather then sugery as I have too many other problems.. it was a good boost I know longer have used it for quite sometime.. Have tried to just keep my eating in line.. to my activity.... being sick has not helped.. LOL.. but I am still trying!
