What actually is the question? Which is the better band? Which do I prefer? Which of them crucified Cliff Richard? Before I can vote, I need to know what I'm voting for.

the who (for me).. led-zep are a bit too prog-rock, the who were exciting, dynamic, (still) fresh-sounding, melodic

i`ve seen them around 7 or 8 times, twice when keith moon was drumming with them (however they were never the same once he died it took the energy and drive away)

guitarist - Jimmy Page
vocalist - equal
drummer - equal
bassist - John Entwhistle
song-writing - Pete Townsend
record production - Pete Townsend
live - equal

On paper, The Who should be better.

But it's not really fair to compare them anyway. The Who were a pop/rock band, Zep were a progrock band.

That's another question I can't really answer. I like bands from both, and which I prefer depends largely on my mood at any given time.

Didn't Led Zepplin get their name from a comment made by Keith Moon?

One account of the band's naming, which has become almost legendary, has it that Keith Moon and John Entwistle suggested that a possible supergroup containing themselves, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck would go down like a lead zeppelin, a term Entwistle used to describe a bad gig. The group deliberately dropped the 'a' in Lead at the suggestion of their manager, Peter Grant, to prevent "thick Americans" from pronouncing it as "leed".

Ben - leave it. It is a cat fight amongst the women. You did nothing. As an adult male having tried it before - DO NOT, repeat DO NOT get between two women who are after each other. They will turn in unison, claw you to death, then go back to fighting amongst themselves.

Just stand clear as far away as possible.
