Which is correct?
The lunar maria and lunar craters are different kinds of objects and probably arose from different processes.

Heh - a tricky question:)
Either could be argued to be true... but if the term 'maria' refers to the surface of the magma filling the impact basins (or craters) in which they sit, and not the impact basin or craters themselves, then they are different types of objects, arising from different, but causally related processes.
...And its claws are as big as cups, and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps! And Mrs Doyle was telling me it's got magnets on its tail, so if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you! And instead of a mouth it's got four arses!
