At the end of the month I age another year! For some reason I never hear about 48th birthdays and I seem to jump the gun and say oh man.. I am 50 years old... LOL But not quite yet! I am 47 for 16 more days! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY! ..

So what shall I do... Its me by my lonesome I believe .. no children have mentioned going to eat or such so I want to plan something fun to do alone.... HUMMMM.. any ideas?

What kind of trouble do ya think I could get into on the 30th! I think it is on the cusp of an American holiday right after,,,

Maybe go camp at the beach  and listen to the water!

LOL...NO MEN ALLOWED... I need to regroup... by Myself!

I just don't know what to do! After 28 years..I seem to be a lousy judge of Character when it comes to "Men"

I'd hate to ask anyone.... things and people are not as they appear to be these days!
Makes the asking difficult to say the least.. Me is a bit gun shy so  I'll pass!

You should thank the Lord you are not 50 yet and party on down. Is the film Mamma mia out in the US because if it is take a bunch of girls and go and see it. Not laughed so much for a very long time.

I used that piece of glass to test the exposure for a larger piece.
See how it fades from dark to light? I exposed sections of the glass for progressively longer periods of time.  Pick the one that looks right, figure out how long it was exposed, and that is the correct exposure time for the final print.

Hope you all slept well..

I have been thinking about what to do and how I wanted to spend my Birthday.. I think I want to be away from the house for the majority of the day and save the movie for later part of day when I am reclining... but what to do..... I love the woods and wood love to go walking up and through the trails of Redwood park if Possible.... Maybe a picnic up in the woods! It is just really close to me.. a couple minutes drive and quite beautiful... I don't know how well a walker will do on the trail but maybe I can take a walking stick and do alright... I am supposed to be using the walker to walk with to stop my hip joints from grinding away as they are having terrible trouble with Arthritis when walking... I can walk fine without it just hurts something awful.. and I do tend to buckle at times when the grinding is bad..

But I bet the trail is pretty good with the dry weather... I wouldn't mind calling up a few parents and students to join me for the afternoon... I could see all my whittle babies.... YAYYYYYYYYYY! That would be fun too... We will see..

OK anymore legitimate ideas...

Has anyone here ever done those gravestone etchings.. where you lay the paper on the stone and do the etchings... I was thinking of doing my family etchings... My Mom My Dad, My sister My Brother My Grandmas etc.. I would like to get a engraving for my Auntie in New Mexico!... I had only met her a few times but she was terrific.. A lot like my mom.. I loved her...

Is that a weird thing to do for my Birthday?? It would be sitting down on the ground .. not much exertion.. and seems it would be safe enough.. and I would not be stuck in the woods without someones help if needed.... although I love the woods...

Does anyone know what the term for those rubbings are called...?

Just enjoy your birthday as it only comes once a year.
Rosalind Franklin was my first cousin and one my life's main regrets is that I never met this brilliant and beautiful lady.
She discovered the Single DNA Helix in 1953, then it was taken by Wilkins without her knowledge or agreeement.

I think I still know someone who does that.. I will check!  The kids and I did it too at school, but its been awhile .. its easy if you don't push to hard.. The kids were funny as they always rubbed holes right into the paper...There would be nothing left but a humongous hole.. and white paper edges! LOL..hee hee..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Hee Hee... I will take that as a compliment.....and thankyou very much Paul!

Hey... I went to buy a bottle of sherry for a new recipe and they carded me....
Lol..... I  said, "you got to be kidding!"  Then blushed and showed the young man my ID. I was feeling sort of giddy then saw a sign on the register that said.. "our policy says, you will be carded with any alcohol purchase regardless of  your age!  Thank you the management" Lol....
then I thought Oh bummer, I thought that was a very nice compliment!  Lol.....

I did a lot of rubbing when I was a teenager but not on gravestones!!!!!

Try wax crayons, they work nicely.

Crayons can look really awesome!

We have always done the gravestones.. They are really cool especially some of the ancient ones..
