I suppose it may be that their would be a gene which might have some effect on a persons personality in such a way, but I think it's more of a formulated characteristic which comes from personal life experience.
If brains were made of dynamite, I wouldn't have enough to blow my nose.

Genes rarely work solo - but in combinations.

Being macho is an expression of behaviour which may in turn be determined by the amounts of certain hormones produced, testosterone for instance.
