After stopping to eat in Glasgow years ago, and seeing the things they were prepared to deep-fry, I would have said it was based on a death wish.

It is so cold in Scotland that you need the calories.

Not as cold as Finland and they don't eat deep fried reindeer kebabs.

I've seen this too. In St Petersburg two fell down a fire escape from a top floor of our hotel (it was thought they mistook it for their room door) and died in the cold (- 31C).

That's odd - I know quite a few Finns, and they are pretty sober - too cold to be drunk, perhaps?. Also, the males do all have the same rather monotone voice, similar to Kimi Raikkonen

I've been to Finland and I think drinking Estonian vodka is their national sport! They pop across on the ferry and buy it by the tankerload as it's so much cheaper than buying vodka in Finland.

I was looking up this word on the net, and was ammused by this result.

"Procreation:
One entry found."

Also, if i believe in evolution through inheritance of genetic material and natural changes, does that make me a "procreationist"?

Members of the KKK visiting Scotland will be glad to hear that white Pudding is also available...

Quote
White pudding or oatmeal pudding is a meat dish popular in Scotland... It is very similar to black pudding, but does not include blood. Consequently, it consists of pork meat and fat, suet, bread, and oatmeal formed into the shape of a large sausage. Earlier versions (pre-1990) often had brain matter (sheep) added as a binding agent.

I've had a life-long interest in the great man and his writing and can report that the answer to this is - not very often.

Hemingway would rise early and do his literary work for about 4 hours before he allowed himself a drink - about mid-morning. One biographer (the unfortunate son who became a Dr) says he had the equivalent of 2 bottles of whisky/day for 20 years.

I have heard that you can get rid of crabs by pouring a low quality scotch over them, give them time to get drunk, then sprinkle the area with sand and watch them stone each other to death.
