Just boiled water should evaporate in the freezer, leaving smaller volume and so freezing quicker!

Regarding this issue discussed on your Christmas show.

The way I've heard it told is that you put equal volumes of just boiled and cold water in freezer, come back later and the hot water has frozen first.

This is explained by the hot water continuing to steam and evaporate before it cools down, so that there is less volume there to freeze when it does.

What do you think?
