Well I was  just curious?
Does that stand the same for gold dust etc...panned gold?

My guess is that gold will have the same value whichever form it is in (ingot, leaf, worked jewellery). Dust and panned might realise a lesser amount to account for impurities.

That said, there is a tendency for the trade to put a higher value on worked gold jewellery mined from areas, such as Wales, where it is rare.

Karen - this will give you the current price of gold per kilo. It is currently trading at slightly over 850 USD per kilo.

Gives current spot price of gold in $/oz.  Need to know the fineness of gold to determine the price- most panned gold is between 80 fine to 95 fine (100 fine is pure gold, impurities, such as silver, decrease the percentage of gold).  Most gold brokers will charge a small percentage fee for processing.

OOPS!  My mistake.

The phrase originated in  Dahlonega, Georgia (deep in the heart of Dixie).
