Are you forgetful?
« on: 24/02/2009 09:55:30 »
That's what you call decaffeinated coffee!

I just went to make myself a mug of coffee.

I opened the jar of instant coffee & the powdered milk. I put the powdered milk in the mug, and a little milk from the fridge. Put the milk back in the fridge, closed the jars and put them away and poured on the hot water.

Fabulous. A nice mug of hot milk!!! I forgot to put the coffee in.

What silly thing have you done (or not done) lately?

I did something similar when making Sandra a cup of tea. I forgot the teabag.

Most commonly, though, I think of something I need to do, go to do it, and then forget what it was. But I'm old so that's to be expected  [;D]

The most classic example of anyone being forgetful that I can remember was at a company I used to work for. We had a computer programmer who worked there who left to go to a company nearer to his home and in the opposite direction. One morning, about 3 weeks after he'd left our employ, he walked in through the door, looked around & with sudden realisation exclaimed "Oh f**k, I don't work here anymore, do I!" and made a hasty exit.

Yes I do the same all the time, boil the kettle then add the milk but seem to forget to add either a teabag or coffee.

This mornng I tried to toast my bread in the toaster only oops,
Rosalind had forgotten to turn it on at the switch. lol lol lol

What was the question again?

Oh yes, I brought my Sat Nav in to update it but then forgot where I put if. I found it a week later in the cheese tray in my fridge.

Annoyingly frequently, while I'm doing something, something else will occur to me and I think I'll do that when I've just done this but then when I've done this I can't remember what that was, only that I was going to do it.

I used to have quite a good memory.. and do to some extent still.. but after i had so many medical
problems I seem to have more trouble remembering things short term...more then Long term....I have some blank spaces that are really annoying  during the time of my mini stroke stroky thing....I have read much of what was here in the forum that I had written.. but reading those old posts seem foreign I remember bits and pieces... which is very annoying...reading things and having this forum and another was very helpful to me in bringing up triggers and helping me recall some things I had lost...during that event...

I can be forgetful..like lee a lot lately..lol...It is rather annoying!

My mum had a terrible menapause. She would be ironing and get a really bad hot flush. She would strip off her top and iron just wearing her bra. Trouble was she would forget and go and answer the door dressed (or undressed) like this. I was going to say she opened the door in her bra but then I remembered she didn't have a door in her bra!

Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

I live in a house with 1250 square feet that is really small for here.. I would like to add on or rebuild from scratch  one day.... I have plenty of space to do that here! Property wise!

I forget sometimes that I don't have enough money to do that though! LOL..

My shoebox (on the 7th floor of an 8 storey filing cabinet) is about the size of the main dining area of a suburban house.

I have a main living area, a hallway with a small kitchenette, and a washing machine in a cupboard.  Then there is a shower room and the toilet.  That is it... oh and a balcony

Does it have on of those toilets with the sink on the top feeding the cistern. We had one of those in Japan but we also had a square, sit up, deep bath. I longed to lie down.
