Is "thouhgt" a Word ?

Why does the spell checker think "thouhgt" is a proper word ?

It doesn't on my computer. It gets underlined with a red wrinkly line here - thouhgt - and if I type it in microsoft word, it corrects the spelling for me. Interestingly microsoft has a wrinkly red line under it here too.

Of course the wrinkly red line only appears before you post it and is not present in the posted version. I say this in case you think your computer is allergic to wrinkly red lines and won't display them.

I agree...even the spell check in my head doesn't recognise it as a word but as mentioned above...it passes through the Naked Scientist spell checker as an OK word !!

Well how come it puts the wrinkly red line under it when I type it in then? Thouhgt. There it goes again. And if I right click it, it comes up with a correct alternative. Well? eh? I am just typing into the TNS box. Ha, it puts the wrinkly line under TNS too.

This is because I am referring to TNS's own spell checker shown here

Whereas I am sure you must be using a third party ( as a browser plug in ?) spell checker that checks all forms you use on any website ?...maybe ?

When I get one of the annoying red or green lines under words or sentences on a Word File/Document then I "right-click" and
"left-click" on delete it.

Used the TNS for the first time it's ok

You have now!

from http://www.didyouknow.org/animals/octopus.htm

The blue-ringed octopus is the size of a golf ball but its poison is powerful enough to kill an adult human in minutes. There's no known antidote. The only treatment is hours of heart massage and artificial respiration until the poison has worked its way out of your system
