Trying to lose weight: how do I stop feeling hungry all the time?
« on: 13/05/2005 21:08:01 »
Hello to all with weight problems,

I am 80 pounds overweight an d am tired of looking like S_ _ T! My wife just joined LA Weight Loss Center and I am sort of piggy backing off her program. Starting walking every day and eating better. Have lost some weight but I am constantly hungry. Not really sure if this Zetacap works but I am going to give it a shot. Will order sample today. I sure hope it works because I want some results. I will continue to eat better and exercise for the shear fact it makes me feel better. I wish you all great success with your weight loss endevors. I will post after I start taking the Zetacap and let you know if it is working.

if i was you i would just increase the number of meals you have in a day. When you only eat three times per day you are very very hungry when it comes to meal time so you tend to eat more than your body needs too. It takes a while for the signal to get from your stomach to your brain to say you are full. If you start eating around 6 small meals per day then when it comes to meal times you wont be as hungry and wont over eat.
Obviously i dont know your body weight/fat percentage or activity level so i cant give you a guideline to how many callories you need each day. Concentrate on low fat meats, food low in saturated fats and sugars, and carbohydrates that are low on the G.I. and lots and lots of veg. Increase the amount of water you drink per day as people often confuse thirst with hunger.
Taking something like zetacap is like using a cement as tooth filler its a little excesive IMO, do it the old fashioned way it will benefit you a lot more in the long term

Hi Rick
this worked for me; When hungry drink water or a black coffee or Eat piece of fruit. Try nurturing another interest in life e.g. crossword puzzles, evening class in something you really like, to take your attention away from food.

"You don't have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great." - Les Brown

I love that quote as it simplifies what we should already know. I haven't tried ZetaCap. Like everyone else I was reaseearching the gastric bypass surgery and came across the ZetaCap solution. I ran into a forum one day. One post from someone suggested to try good old-fashioned fiber for the same benefits before trying the pills.

Well for the last two weeks, I have done just that. I incorporated 15 to 20 grams of fiber a day in the form of vegetables, but more so in the form of Sugar-Free Metamucil. I had a teaspoon of Metamucil with 8oz. of water three times a day at least 30 minutes prior to eating a meal.

I promise you, I have never felt so full without actually eating. It reduced what I ate during a sitting by at least 500 calories per meal. I am literally unable to eat. I also adopted a high-protein, low carbohydrate meal plan in, and as a result have lost 21 pounds in two weeks.

The only downfall I see is that my stomach appears more bloated then usual. Sometimes it feels so tight that nothing else could possibly fit in, so I also encourage you to drink plenty of water to reduce the bloating affect.

I hate exercise, but I love to dance, so I also incorporated a daily dance routine and stretching regimen into my plan.

Moral of the story: Challenge yourself first with the natural approach of good old-fashioned fiber. The benefits help to reduce, heart disease, cholestorol, and allows for more nutrients to be received by the foods we eat, as the fiber naturally slows down the way we process our foods and nutrients after consumption, thereby also contributing to that long lasting full feeling.

In addition, eat all day, never allow room for hunger. As long as you are snacking on some good vegetables, you will be ok. The other benefit of drinking the fiber is it actually taste like drinking Tang without the sugar. It actually tastes good. If snacking on fruit, try snacking on berries, such as strawberries, and do away with the apples, bananas, and watermelon.

I wish you all great success, and I hope this helps.

So this is why I have a very hard time increasing my weight. I regularly eat 5 times a day.

I have been through a lots of diet and my latest diet where I starve myself for 16 hours(only drinking water during those 16 hrs) has killed my all time hunger. You could try out keto diet which is popular nowadays. And fasting is also good for your skin, heart health and dental health and overall health.

Do you not find though, @SoniaS99 that you then feel so hungry after yuor 16h enforced starvation that you binge overeat?

Try to stay hungry(on warter) for 16 hours for a few months,it would certainly kill your urge of feeling hungry. You can opt for keto diet and eat lots of salad for proper dental health.

All weight loss campaigns seem to start with what extra can I eat just calculate what you are eating to maintain your excessive weight and eat less of it.

Motivation is the goal. Focus on something more valuable for you instead of food. For me, for example, work thoughts about my wife (that I will look stronger and more handsome) and also it's nice to receive the attention of women.
