I heard Cetirizine (Zirtec) was the most effective. I work in a pharmacy and wondered what most people prefered. We sell the Generic versions of all the major brands, the same ingridients at cheaper prices. I just wanted to know so i wasnt reccomending the worse drug.

Thank you for you response. Dean

I have been using cetirizine for the last few years. My own experience is that, in terms of symptom control, it is the best of the anti-histamines that I have tried, and in terms of side effects I have noticed very few.

I have to say, however, that I only have very mild symptoms and have not used that many different anti-histamines.
