What would happen if we put in a room a humidifier and a dehumidifier (same power characteristics), turned them on and close the door?

With the door shut, I couldn't tell you, open the door and let's have a look.

Don't take any notice of Don. He's an exhibitionist.

It might be quicker and cheaper to pour the water directly from the humidifier container directly into the dehumidifier container.

Putting a humidifier and a de-humidifier together in a room to fight it out was the punch-line to one of Steven Wright's jokes
...And its claws are as big as cups, and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps! And Mrs Doyle was telling me it's got magnets on its tail, so if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you! And instead of a mouth it's got four arses!

You probably would have a flow of humid air from the first to the second, while the room's intrinsic humidity stays the same (if the humidificator and de-h. have the same exact efficiency).
