Exchanging role models. That's what it ends in.

The point is that by thinking by yourself you become highly uncomfortable, to everyone, not only your government. It will mean you questioning all beliefs and all values. And we need people like this, there will be no change without them.

It's a kind of a contradiction that too. To lead by not leading, just by being yourself.

If you want something different to read you could always try " The Riddle-Master of Hed " by Patricia A. McKillip. I find it quite pleasurable. And a very well devolved world, enough without being too much

We like to drink, we like to escape. All of us do, one way or another.
Saw this
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/jan/25/english-and-scottish-get-drunk-most-often-25-nation-survey-finds
got curious and checked it up.
" Don’t look to GDS for national estimates.
GDS is designed to answer comparison questions that are not dependent on probability samples. The GDS sample is thus most effectively used to compare population segments, young vs. old, men vs. women, homo- vs. heterosexual, or highlight behaviors of a specific segment of interest such as people who study, go clubbing, eat vegetarian, report a mental health condition, etc. Given that GDS recruits young people experienced with illicit drug use, we are able to spot emerging drug trends before they enter into the general population. GDS complements existing drug use information and provides essential, current data on the patterns of use, harms, health and well-being experienced by people who use drugs in your country. "
Painfully obvious that you always need to check your sources.

Then we have this. " The melting of ice across the planet is accelerating at a record rate, with the melting of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets speeding up the fastest, research has found.
The rate of loss is now in line with the worst case scenarios of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the world’s leading authority on the climate, according to a paper published on Monday in the journal The Cryosphere. "
Yes, but it's not news. " The Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets, which hold enough frozen water to lift oceans 65 metres, are tracking the UN's worst-case scenarios for sea level rise, researchers said Monday, highlighting flaws in current climate change models. "

I think the new article from The Guardian, concerning 2021, is lifted from this one.

might be wrong there, Still not news.

But this might be, to both you and me.
" The overall rate of ice loss has increased by 57 % over the past 24 years compared to the 1990s, and in situ measurements of changes in glacier mass (Zemp et al., 2019a) "
So we're accelerating. Yeah

And this one.
" Helping the most vulnerable people to cope with the climate crisis can boost the global economy during the Covid crisis and governments should make this a priority, the head of the International Monetary Fund has said. "
So incredibly questionable, the IMF, and their goals, to raise the GDP, each year. Same as your government.
The same f*ng game in new clothes.

I won't comment that much on USA:s new president and his climate goals. Let's give him some peace and see what comes from it. I don't expect much, that's true, but I don't expect much from you either.

What should we call it?
A Black Swan?
Unforeseen effects?
" Ice sheet models do well in describing the long-term impact of gradual global warming, which has seen temperatures at the poles rise far more quickly than for the planet as a whole.
But they have failed to account for short-term fluctuations in weather patterns that are, themselves, deeply influenced by climate change. "For Greenland, much of the ice loss is now being driven by surface melt events during hot summers - processes not captured in the AR5 simulations," said Slater, referring to the 2014 IPCC report, the fifth since 1992. "
floods and droughts, and wild fires.

I know, increased storms, changing circulation patterns for streams, underwater and in the air. And a lot more, a whole earth interacting.

The climate models catch the big picture, and constantly update it. But it's so incredibly impossibly complicated to describe this earth system as it really is. We don't even know all factors, and what importance they may have. How can we? Been here ten thousand years as farmers, hoarding. Got our our 'modern science' somewhere around 1700? Got our personal computers somewhere in the 1980:s
But we're the crown of existence, right?
