I've been severely disappointed in USA this last decade, as well as disappointed before too. But they still have good science. Although if we f.ex take NOOA:s website you will find it increasingly hard to navigate from its front page. It's a frustrating experience making it easier to google it than following the 'links' it gives. But to google it you have to know what to ask for, which then means that if you're interested connecting to its official portal you will meet a lot of self indulgent 'portraits' of the people working there but little fact about the state of our world.
