Please could you tell me why we still grow hair under our arms?

Thanks!

I've heard it reduces friction between the arm and body during rigorous activity, being proposed to be a biological advantage. Other idea I've heard is that it collects pheromones but as far as i'm aware its debatable as to whether or not humans respond to such chemicals, though perhaps our ancestors could have done, thereby being selected for.
