I've just been asked why her scars hurt when it's cold. Any ideas?

Hi Eth

I think that this could be a pain phenomenon related to nerve injury - what are the scars the result of ?

Scar tissue, when fully healed, has subnormal blood flow in normal conditions.
In cold conditions there is a further reduction in blood flow because of vasoconstriction,
which could be sufficient to cause ischemia in the scar tissue which is painful.
