'Er indoors tried on a pair of shoes like these, but she couldn't get her whole foot in. still a toe should be enough.

I think they were called platform soles and it took a deal of training to walk in them. I did find a bigger pair and thought diesel fitter.

You could be on the right track there, but don't expect to railroad anyone into accepting your points.

Having been a sleeper, lurking unseen in the background for some time, I get the feeling you think I have sent out the wrong signals.

Speaking of signals I was going to use semaphore for this post until I realised I have a bogie on my handkerchief.

I let out a soulful, soleful cry to see goldfish treated that way.  Species discrimination!  (I actually do raise goldfish in our pond.)

I suppose they would have been in tune with each other. It is said of some that they were from the same mould. These two weren't quite so alike, but they could have been said to have been from the same broad cast.

Would "di" be a good name for a Welsh radio engineer?

As I don't use sign language as a general rule of thumb, I am finding it hard to put my finger on the correct signage.

Will you be offering further good advice, or will you wrist your case there. If need be, I can always throw you a life line.

Oh, and when you visit, don't forget to wash yourself after desert in the finger bowl right behind you.

And don't you even think of laying a finger on my wife. we'll both shake our fingers  at you for attempting that!
