Jay Winter via facebook asked the Naked Scientists:

In cases of necrotising infections i.e Clostridial myonecrosis, how does a person become infected? I have read that these bacteria occur naturally on our skin, so surely we are all at risk of these infections from something as simple as a minor wound?

What do you think?
