Lethality of falling bullets...

Stephen sweeney  asked the Naked Scientists:
A bullet will not fall back to earth at ballistic speed if shot up directly.

It will if there is even a small angle off the vertical, but straight up it will only have the force of gravity pulling it back down. The mass of bullets is not enough to kill anyone unless incredibly unlucky. If there is any trajectory imparted, then it will come back to earth at a lethal velocity.

   Love the programme. Pod listener.

What do you think?
