Sagren Moodley asked the Naked Scientists:
Hi Chris

I hope you are well, Im from south africa and i listen to your show with Redi Tlabi every friday, but i can never get through to ask you any questions.

Sometimes my dog just wakes up and barks randomly he also looks like he is running when he is sleeping, is he dreaming about chasing cars, and when he just wakes up and barks, is he having nightmares, My question is, can dogs be traumatised by dreams the way humans are?

I hope that you can respond to my questions and that they don't seem outrageous, I love your show and have only today discovered your website, keep up the good work, looking forward to listening to you on Friday

I think it would be the other way round, a traumatised dog would have bad dreams rather then a dream causing a trauma.

What am I doing thinking about science?

Where do you go? Yours with love JOLLY
