A logo is mostly designed or drawn in a drawing tool like Adobe Illustrator or Creative Suite. It has to be created in high resolution

such that it can be converted to other formats too and used elsewhere also. Usually the standard of resolution is 300 dots per inch.
If your logo is not in such a format which can’t be converted into other formats and broken up or enlarged for other purposes too then it’s just an image you can display on your website not what you call a branding tool. Ideally you should get all

from the designer which can help you better recognize and check the visibility of your logo in all formats
