What's The Psychology Behind Tapping Your Fingers/Thumbs

What's The Psychology Behind Tapping Your Fingers/Thumbs

Dearest Digitologists,

As a sheepie I of course luff to tap my fingers whilst idle.....and....when occupied too actually but perhaps I just notice it more whilst idle !

Yep, tapping fingers is all I think about really.

Look here,

Here is a thumb that is caught whilst in descent mode to make contact with the table !

I remember reading that the rhythm of walking has a calming effect on the human body.  Maybe finger tapping is thumbthing like that. :o)

Thanks Donnah   I think you are most probably very right. .....

..............hmmmm (ponders).... it would be an interesting study I think to find out that when people idly tap their fingers or twitch their legs /feet that it is in concert with a bodily rhythm  !

I don't know about tapping thumbs but according to Freud, people who twiddle their thumbs are basically said, likely to be over sexed....
