Boils
People refer to tender, red lumps that may ooze pus as boils. A single "boil" may be a ruptured cyst or a small abscess. Most boils can be treated by "incision and drainage", a minor surgical procedure to open the boil and to drain the pus. Oral antibiotics are usually not needed.

Spot zit or pimple
A small swelling of the skin, usually caused by acne; a papule or pustule

What I have noticed, and I am no Doctor but, On occasion when I have had a boil, They get pretty big and very red and hurt. When they are lanced there is more blood and more Pus. You can soak them in a hot bath to help them rupture and bring them to a head, especially if they are causing alot of pain, ie, location and all! They are just gross, I hate to get one. They happen rarely for me, but seem to be a profound difference! A pimple you can just squeeze and usually Just small amount pus not much for bleeding unless you continue to squeeze to hard. A boil seems to be more inflamed and sore!
