Garlic Paste for cold sores
« on: 06/07/2011 00:32:19 »
After reading that garlic inhibits the herpes virus on the cold sore remedy thread I decided to try something on a full blown cold sore that covered approx 1/3 of my lip.  In my experience at this stage no amount of ice, lysine, monolaurin or wishful thinking will help, only 2 weeks of misery to look forward to.  That being said, I did all of those things but then I made a paste from freeze dried garlic and water, and put a very thick coat on the affected area.  Several hours later i am shocked to discover a complete reversal of symptoms.  Too soon to say for sure but it looks like it may not blister at all and this thing was a massive mountain of bumps earlier!  It did sting a lot for a while but now it feels fine.  I am not sure how this forum works but I wanted to post this as I got the idea from someone on here and wanted to pass it along.

So in the end... did the cold sore really go away?

I rather doubt you'll get any answer, since the original post was dated July 2011 and no further posts have been made by this member.

Whether the cold sore went away shall remain a mystery, but I wouldn't mind betting friends, relatives, the pet cat and others went away, far away!

Hmmm..... and maybe the wife! Could be an added bonus.
