Hi, in this Beatles music video, right at the end of Hey you've got to hide your love away, the lady produces an object, what is it?

That lady is 'Ahme' (played by Eleanor Bron) and she pulls a large hypodermic needle, intended for Ringo, from her bag.

Surely intended for George?  And what that Leo McKern with the manhole cover on his head

No, its for Ringo. In the film 'Help' one of Ringo's rings is discovered to have belonged to an ancient religious sect. Eleanor Bron plays the part of member of the sect (headed by Leo McKern) trying to get their ring back, but it is stuck on Ringo's finger. The only way to get the ring, is to abduct Ringo and cut his finger off.

Well, that's what I remember of the plot. Stone me, it was back in 1965, or there abouts. Watch the film, a bit of light hearted fun and goodly smattering of Beatles oldies from the album of the same name.
