When you look in a bag of Rice Crispies the big ones are at the top, and all the way down the bag they get smaller, and smaller.

Is there a name for that effect?
It's your fault if you don't understand me.

It is often called the Brazil Nut Effect.

Wikipedia also calls it granular convection.
