What are the causes of headaches?
« on: 18/03/2014 12:30:01 »
Jean asked the Naked Scientists:

I get severe headaches which are caused, according to a neurologist, by nerve ends in my head, i also have osteoathritis in my spine.

Pregabilon was perscribed for the nerve problem but that led to acute toilet discharge for that i was given a colonoscopy which caused a disturbance to a nerve causing my arms and legs to go very hot inside and then freezing cold; the headache then increased in intensity.

These symptoms are usually triggered by a sharp pain in my backside, they wake me in the morning and last pretty well all day. i am taking 3 Amitriptyline pills total 30 mgs at night as well as painkillers, i have suffered with these symptoms daily for the last 2yrs and am now getting desperate.

I understand from your Radio Norfolk programme you specialise in nerve problems I would appreciate any advice you could give thank you

Yours Respectfully Jean

What do you think?

Is the bowel incontinence definitely due to Pregabilon (aka Lyrica) ?
... http://www.ehealthme.com/ds/lyrica/bowel+incontinence

It is possible for neurological disease to cause headaches, bowel incontinence and paresthesia ...
