What are you listening to?
« on: 05/09/2006 21:24:29 »
I'm currently listening to You Needed Me by.....wait for it....no it's not Boyzone........hard luck......it's by Anne Murray.....

I have no idea who she is, I was actually looking for the Boyzone one, not that I like them It's just I like the song. But to be honest Anne sings it a lot better, it's a little bit slower which is nice.

I've never heard of her before. But she has a lovely voice.

Strangely though, I want to listen to some of the Carpenter songs now [?]

Haven't listened to her in ages, but I used to love her. Especially loved the way she sang Danny's song, which was written, I think, by Kenny Loggins.  Love him too. Now I'm giving away my age.

Aretha, Nina, Karen, love their music. Soul and blues are great.

Neil, I remember watching a film about Karen years ago, such a sad story, such a waste. She certainly was a very talented woman.

After watching We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson I've had a certain song stuck in my head. It's from the part when they have a party and theres a guy on the stage singing. I was looking for it all of last night but not knowing what it was called kinda threw a spanner in the works. Well I had a look last night and now know the song is called Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me. So I'm currently listening to Mel Carter singing this lovely song.

Here are the lyrics for anyone who cares [:D]

Hold me
Hold me
Never let me go until you've told me
Told me
What I want to know
And then just hold me
Hold me
Make me tell you I'm in love with you
Thrill me
Thrill me
Walk me down the lane where shadows will be
Will be
Hiding lovers just the same
As we'll be
We'll be
When you make me tell you I love you
They said
"Be sensible with your new love."
"Don't be fooled
"Thinkin' this is the best you'll find."
But they've never been in the dark
With you, love
When you take me in your arms
And drive me slowly outta my mind
Kiss me (kiss me)
Kiss me (kiss me)
And when you do
I know that you will miss me (miss me)
Miss me (miss me)
If we ever say we're through
So kiss me (kiss me)
Kiss me (kiss me)
Never, ever, ever let me go
(Kiss me)
Never, ever, ever let me go
(Kiss me)
Never, ever, ever let me go. . .

I was listening to QUEEN today.  I love them so much.  I love to watch my son play air guitar and bang his head when we listen to them.  He cracks me up.  The only problem with listening to them is that it makes me sad that we'll never hear from Freddie Mercury again.  So talented.

I have been listening to Scritti Polliti's latest album...and I love it..

I was a fan in the 80's and think they are just simply sooooooooooper !!

Oh My ..QUEEN  (by the way...can I just remind everybody that i saw them three times !! ...gloat..boast)....

Freddie Mercury.....oh gawwwwd !!...I remember seeing a review of one of the concerts and the review said that he (FM) was a prancing megalomaniac....and he was right !!...sooooooo pretentious.....so audacious.......so cavalier and so extraordinarily talented........and yet so eloquent in voice and diction..*le sigh*...oh..by the way ..I saw them three times  y'know ?

I have to thank my dad for my taste in music. All I heard while I was growing up was the blues and all sorts of rock and ballads.
So it's not surprising that I have had a blues song stuck in head for a couple of days.

The artist John Mayall sing 'It Hurts Me Too'

 Lyrics   Chords   Tablature   Albums/Buy
  Search Database:

Home PageBrowse By PerformerBrowse By Album TitleChord Charts and InfoMost Popular SongsMusic and Lyrics Links

You said you was hurting, almost lost your mind,
And the man you love, he hurts you all the time.
When things go wrong, go wrong with you, it hurts me, too.

You love him more when you should love him less.
I pick up behind him and take his mess.
When things go wrong, go wrong with you, it hurts me, too.

He love another woman and I love you,
But you love him and stick to him like glue.
When things go wrong, go wrong with you, it hurts me, too.

Now you better leave him; he better put you down.
Oh, I won't stand to see you pushed around.
When things go wrong, go wrong with you, it hurts me, too.

Well his taste in music has gone onto worship music more than anything, not that there is anything wrong with that. My mum and dad go to a evangelical church and they love it, they have a very strong faith and I am really happy that they do. They do a lot for the church, probably more for the youth though. They also usually lead worship.
But pops will still listen to some of the classics like John Mayall [:)]

Hi Neil,

Good to hear (pun intended)

I could do with listening to some music now, it would make my shift a little more enjoyable, plus some lively music would be great, perk me up a little before I go out tonight.

Yes, I'm hitting the town tonight, didn't really want to but my housemate is dj'ing and he gets a little funny if I don't go along, I think I'm his saftey blanket as I have been to pretty much all of his gigs. Bless his little cotton socks

Dearest Karen Mam,

http://www.thefeeling.com/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Feeling

They are quite contemporary...but have their roots /influences set in the 70's like 10cc, Pilot....their single 'Never Be Lonely' I love....I think one could easily classify them as soft rock concentrating on really nice melodies and vocal harmonies.

Well the birdie song is a classic.......bad one......but the JCB is a really lovely song. I think it kind of reflects how most boys see their dads, it's a happy song [:)]
