FYI,  feedback would be appreciated.

Imagine an advanced alien being, say, Spock or Einstein (had to be, right?), lands on Earth saying, "You Terrans have achieved much in physics.  However, you've made invalid assumptions which despite allowing rudimentary predictions of the physical world, hold you back from a Unified Theory."
"What are they?" you ask, because you're exceptionally bright.         
"Space is not space.  Repulsion is the one true force.  Gravity does not pull."      
Your first reaction is, "Back off, E.T. this is some sort of hoax, right?"  You look for hidden cameras, but then your neurons begin to fire.  Damned curiosity. 
And the point of this mini sci-fi intro?       

 I will present off-the-wall physics hypotheses. (which, imho, I think have merit)   At worst, it is an exercise to think outside of the box.  At best, it will re-visit the fundamentals of physics.   
PHYSICS RE-IMAGINED:   Unified Theory   (P. Perek)            
one force:    repulsion                
matter:     smac particle - smallest particle that can be permanently contained in our universe  (smac = smallest and contained)   Each smac particle is surrounded by a force of repulsion.
universe:   a quasi-impermeable container filled with particles      
Pre-Big Bang:    only smac particles exist equidistant from one another in equilibrium      
Universal Pool:   subatomic micro-fluid of smac in equilibrium surrounded by a quasi-impermeable barrier    (universal pool = UP)
Multifusion:  Here it helps to visualize a bullet being shot into a swimming pool and the effects.  A  block of matter from outside our universe is introduced and shoots through the universal pool of smac. 

1) At the front of this block - high pressure smac particles are pushed ahead of it.

2) At the back of this block - a series of expanding and contracting spheres. Expansion 1:  Smac particles move outward in all directions in a sphere pattern.  Contraction #1 - smac particles are pushed back to the center by the surrounding smac particles in the universal pool (at very high speeds) and are simultaneously fused into a sphere shape of integrated matter.  It is the most dense layer (the repulsion force of each smac particle 'wedges' itself between others). Expansion #2 - less far because some energy is stored in bonds of first layer/sphere.  Contraction #2 - smac particles come back and are simultaneously fused into a sphere shape around the inner sphere.  It is the second most dense layer.   This process repeats creating nested spheres of integrated smac particles until Expansion #N and Contraction #N -  smac particles come back are fused into final layer, beyond that not enough energy to fuse another layer, least dense layer.  The end result: the Alpha1 particle. 
Thus, smac1 particles go through multifusion to create Alpha1.     The types of particles that could be created depends upon the size, speed, shape, spin of the original 'shooting' block of matter through the universal pool/UP            

Matter Integration:   multifusion and fusion   
AlphaP particle:      Like all multifusion integrated particles, it is comprised of a series of nested spheres, from most dense at center to least dense.  For sake of argument, I'll designate AlphaP as the particle equivalent in size to the proton.               
AlphaP Atomic Model:   3 Sections   

Section 1 - dense inner core of nested sphere layers = solid core   
Section 2 - less dense outer nested sphere layers = liquid layer      
Section 3 -  smac cloud      
Section 1 and 2 are bound together forming layers.  The smac cloud is comprised of the ‘loose’ smac particles that are forever pushed back and forth between the bound layers(ie. section 1and2) and the smac particles of the universal pool.  The smac cloud is similar in shape to the electron cloud.  Its shape is likely the same as the electron cloud, but instead of being probabilistic locations, the smac cloud is actually 'full of' smac particles.
I am undecided about electrons, but if they do exist, they are not negatively charged and they are larger than smac particles (might be caught/trapped in the smac cloud - explanation below)               
Bonding:   This atomic model allows for particles to bond very strongly or very weakly.  The deeper two fused particles bond, the stronger the bond.
Each element is like a species in a way, with its defining characteristic being the number of solid cores(i.e. number of section 1s) it contains(ie. number of protons)                  
Core to Core bonding:  Results in new elements and is the deepest, strongest bond.  Two bound AlphaP cores make up helium.  Three bound AlphaP cores make up lithium, etc.
Liquid Layer to Liquid Layer bonding:  (ionic and covalent bonds) Once the two particles are bound, you must consider their sub-layers as fused into one new single layer. Thus depending on the original density of the layers of the two original particles, the newly combined layers can become more dense than the originals.   (i.e. it might now have 'filled outer layers'- explains inertness and reactivity)    
This building-block atomic model explains the periodic table, and the variety of bonds that can take place within and between atoms.                    
An atom’s layers make the atom itself a mini building block.  Each element has unique inner and outer layers that can combine with other atoms (in a sort of building block that's a sphere shape)               
Forces:   Thus, strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force, ionic, and covalent bonds can be explained by this atomic model.         
The other forces explained:   gravity and electromagnetism               
The Physical World:
Earth:  Is an aggregate of smac particles bonded as per the above methods.  It should be noted - the  smac particles of the Universal Pool are in and around every atomic and subatomic particle of the Earth and its atmosphere.  Smac fills all void areas unoccupied by integrated matter.
Gravity:  Gravity is a push outward and an equal and opposite push back inwards.  It is a back and forth, gravitational point pulsation. It is applicable at the subatomic and planetary/large body scales.      
Background:   A smac particle has the force to repel other smac particles.  A massive number of smac particles has the ability to repel a massive number of other smac particles.
Earth's Smac Cloud:  The sum of the mass of smac particles integrated into the Earth repels a vast quantity of 'loose' smac particles outward into the universal pool.  In a cycle of expansion and contraction, the earth pushes out 'loose' smac particles where they're slowed then stopped by the UP and shot back inwards at high velocities. Let’s say the earth repels X trillion smac particles outward where they're slowed and eventually repelled back inwards (in a wave-like pulsation)

Density factor:    When those X trillion particles are compacted into a small area…like the size of the earth and several miles out, those X trillion particles are very densely packed.  When they are pushed thousands upon thousands of kilometers away from the Earth, they are spread out over a huge volume and are very undensely packed.

Collision Factor:     As well, when the wave of smac particles is pulsing in and out, it moves far slower in and around the central high mass object (i.e. Earth)as it encounters other particles and is scattered, trapped, etc. momentarily.  (though some may pass straight through to the absolute center).  In contrast, the particles moving through a true void (not space!) or a near void(i.e. space) will go extremely fast (i.e. Farther from the central point)  Light speed = speed through the universal pool of smac.  Supra light speed…speed of particle in a true void (not ‘space’!)
Gravity:   Gravity is the density of the pulsating wave of smac particles that are being pushed outwards and pushed back inwards to a point (point pulsation).  The density is greatest at the inner most point and least dense at the outer most point.            
Increased mass of object (i.e. Sun vs. Earth) - more smac shot out into space, more shot back into a high dense central point.  It is this smac pulsing cloud in and around Earth or any object with mass that is gravity.  Increased mass of an object means increased density/gravity.  The farther away you are the less 'strong' (i.e. Dense) it is.  All integrated matter travelling through it will be slowed/bent…including electrical impulses and light.

How are we not disintegrated, how is the earth not torn apart?   a. we have structure, the opposing forces of our atoms keep us 'wedged' together.  Though we are not 'torn apart',  we, the earth, all integrated matter in the universe are all pulsing in and out BUT WE CANNOT PERCEIVE IT AT ALL because it is all relative and far too fast for us to perceive or measure.
Thus gravity is the point pulsation of smac particles repelled back and forth between integrated matter and the universal pool.      
Magnetism(more later):   is gravity on the atomic level expressing itself in a unique manner.  The atoms of magnetic elements have unique internal structures that bond well with 'partner' elements.             
Electricity(more later):  is the linear/near linear movement of smac particles (or electrons- TBD) via conduits made of smac vortexes.

Conductivity:   The atoms of conductive elements have unique internal structures that create low density/void areas which directionally channel smac particles(or electrons TBD)             
Properties of Elements:   The smac cloud gives huge clues about the shape/properties of the particle it enshrouds.  Why? because the mass, shape, spin, convection currents or tectonic movements of the layers of the particle directly and indirectly affect the shape attributes of the smac cloud.  To reiterate, I assume the smac cloud is the same shape as the electron cloud, but is full of actual moving smac particles and not a probabilistic area where electrons may be.            

Atom:    is the solid inner core + liquid layers + smac cloud
Particle:   is the solid inner core + liquid layers only            

Hypothesis regarding particle shape and smac cloud shape:      

H:     1 ‘proton’ sphere-shaped core, smac cloud is sphere shaped/symmetrical in and out pulsation. 

He:    2 ‘protons’ squished sphere-shaped core, smac cloud is a sphere/symmetrical in and out pulsation. 

Li:     3 ‘protons’ triangle shaped core, smac cloud is a sphere/symmetrical in and out pulsation. 

Be:    4 ‘protons’ diamond-shaped core, smac cloud is a sphere/symmetrical in and out pulsation. 

B:     5 ‘protons’ IMBALANCED shape, first time there is non-symmetry within the layers and this results in a unique current within the smac cloud  (ie. 2p) The smac cloud is no longer a pure sphere shape.  Though this current still travels in and out from the center in a tear-drop shape.  It may be from an oddity(imbalance,nonsymmetry, etc.) in the shape of the particle.
As we move down the periodic table, these tear-drop shaped currents continue to be added to the smac cloud until something very odd happens at the transition metals.
Transition Metals:  Two unique attributes occur.  1) The donut shaped current occurs in the smac cloud. It’s first time the current does not pulse in and out from the center.  2)  There is a ‘half empty s shell’ with a full d shell.  It is these two unique attributes that either are responsible for magnetism or hint at the unique features of the inner layers of the atom that cause magnetism and or/conductivity.            
Magnetic Elements:    Iron, Cobalt and Nickel - their donut shaped clouds are medium filled (not empty, not full).  Magnetic elements have voids or low pressure areas that allow for attraction(i.e. hi to low pressure movement) of partner elements (ie. magnetism)
Conductive Elements:    Silver, Cu, Gold - all have half-filled s and full d10 shells.  Thus, conductors have very full outer shells and must fit together/interact in a way that creates 'tunnels' or low pressure areas through which smac particles (or maybe electrons) flow               
TBD – electrons may be particles 'held' by the gravity of the smac wave (but the are not negatively charged) It could be a small particle trapped by the gravitational wave OR it could be a small piece of matter when two protons collide/fuse that breaks off and is trapped in the gravity field of the cloud.            

Light is part particle and wave.   A particle travels through the universal pool of smac causing expanding and contracting waves in its wake.  Thus, the perpendicular wave nature of light (i.e. corresponds to the outline of the ‘expanding and contracting spheres)

Well, I hope you have had your brain niggled, and your neurons are firing.  That is all I have room for.    I know it's way out there.

Answer: YES

Although an interesting read Patricia your hypothesis seems over complicated.
The Universe appears to operate on fairly simple rules.
