So dr. W was working on POIS the whole time!

Life works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

I think we need to keep doing what we're doing until a cure is found. We have come this far by digging. Let's never stop! That's how I survived 30 years of torture POIS.  [:)]

I just received 2 Private Message from forum members regarding this, so I would like to elaborate.

We must NOT stop working the forum.

We do NOT have an absolutely-certain idea where and when our research will go.

Yes, these are exciting times, but - speaking very pragmatically - we all have also been through disappointments before.

Our main guarantee to date has been...ourselves.

So..........let's keep testing that garlic!  [:)] PLEASE.

i was pleased by what iv read this even on the forum. i still have a little youth left in me, maybe i will actually get to use it during this life time. if the good Doctors paper does reveal the etiology and cure, or a treatment that gives close to normal functionality back to me, i will "pay it forward" an will owe the world one cure in return. which i will pay back before i die.

By the way- look up dr. Waldinger on google. He's done some very interesting research into other sexual illnesses and seems to be a pioneer in the field. I don't want to play up his significance, or build up expectations too much though. But the work on genital restless syndrome looks interesting.

Dear All,

Remember that last week we launched the POIS Map... and we hope you join us soon.

With the collaboration of nine members, we have reached version Beta 2.1.
This version has incorporated a bar graph (below the map) which shows the percentage
of POIS Forum Members per continent.

As you may guess, this map is not intended to be just something nice for our website;
it’s a research tool. From this map, very interesting conclusions can be extracted, once
a certain number of members are involved.

Thank you very much!

Regards,
Mat

The research was difficult and took a long time but recently, we found strong indications not only of its cause but also for its effective treatment.

What are people's opinions on this statement, specifically what is meant by strong indications?

Do you think his statement applies to all 'types' of POIS?

Does anyone with POIS has a cyst (between the anus and the scrotum)? I've heard that a cyst also can cause atiguability.

And does POIS cause urinary tract infections? Today they made an echo of my mach and kidneys. But they didn't find anything why I had 3 UTI's in a year.

We are just going to have to wait and see.

On the lines of what demo was saying, lets not get too carried away with talk of cures because we're potentially setting ourselves up for the ultimate fall.

A cyst type bulk in that area could it be the prostate?

How would those urinary infections manifest themselves? pains, itching or burning urethra, milky pee? Some of those symptoms can result from retrograde flow, but only appear shortly after the "O" and last for 1 or 2 days.

Hardly a party pooper! Extremely well said. Many of us had soaring hopes that hurt like hell when reality set in.

I hope fervently for a major new breakthrough, but I will settle for solid progress! And we have in fact we have largely achieved much of that progress here.

It's a cyst. Two doctors checked it, because I was afraid of cancer.

The UTI's are determined by the doctor (urine check). I know the difference between POIS and an UTI. With UTI I've to go very often to the bathroom.

I have an itching or burning urethra now. But my urine was clean. In august they are going to make an echo of my prostate and a cystoscopy (urethra and bladder).

The "Strong Indications" should mean practically positive. These docs tend to downplay to be safe. However he says "effective treatment" NOT cure. That could mean a lot of things, perhaps some of which we have actually seen here.

So on one side, caution. On the other, considering what his first paper did, these two should have a great impact regardless of the extent of the "solution".

If he does have a cure, then our job will be to help guide others to it. We are still a beacon for those who think they are dying of something.... alone. And even though he may find a cause and cure, there will still be many out there looking all over the internet for an answer.

I experience "flashing lights", especially on the same day or day after of the "O" when I am falling asleep.  Does anybody else experience this?  It might have something to do with adrenaline.

I apologize if what I said came off as 'there's no need  for us to research anymore' as it was not the intent! Considering this is significant new information and this is a forum I thought we could discuss Waldinger's memo. Coincidentally, the more I analyze his wording the more reason there appears for us to continue researching.
