How can I resume a download in IE11?
« on: 28/05/2016 23:35:19 »
I started downloading about 20 different files using Internet Explorer 11 (IE11). The program (i.e. IE11) shut down before the downloads were completed. I can't figure out how to resume the downloads. Is it even possible?  Thanks!

Uninstall IE to force it to back-track and then reactivate the download update process.

Or, use system restore to wind back the clock to a pre-update time point.

I started downloading about 20 different files ... IE11... shut down before the downloads were completed ...
Attempting 20 simultaneous downloads is risky : if the browser crashes, (which apparently has happened) they will all be lost : you're putting all your eggs in one basket.  I usually download files one-at-a-time , 3 simultaneously at most.

The partial downloads will be lost if the browser is set to clear the cache when the browser is closed. [ Reinstalling a browser will probably overwrite the partial downloads too ].  I don't think salvaging your partial downloads is possible.

You could try looking in the downloads folder or "AppData, Local, Temp" folder to see if anything useful has been downloaded , but don't hold your breath.
