Andrea Lewis  asked the Naked Scientists:

why do our undies go into our bum and how can we stop it?

I also know that a thong is a very different thing in Oz to it is here [:)]

Indeed! When she first worked in Australia, my wife was initially most perturbed when an Aussie complimented her on her thongs one day, until she realised he was referring to what she was wearing on her feet rather than higher up her legs!

At the risk of totally derailing this thread (was it ever really on the rails?) I am reminded of the young lady who went to the doctor with a respiratory complaint.

The doctor applied his stethoscope to her upper chest and said, "Big breaths now", to which she replied

"Yeth. And I'm only thixteen!"

I see that you live in Australia. Have you noticed what happens to undies when worn on the other side of the world?

so is a 'fanny'

This really won't do at all. I think we'll have to move this thread to Chat, or, at the least, New Theories.  [;D]

Which just goes to prove that thongs are not what they used to be!
