How do you stop a jet engine melting?

The inside of a jet engine can get up to 1600 degrees Celsius, so how do the materials survive this intense heat?

My inclination would be to blow air through it, possibly using a jet engine. But at 16,000 degrees, you wouldn't have a hope in hell. Try 1,600.
