Is it some sort of biology test ?

Actually, they feel ok, I guess that's fair !

Well, it's nothing to do with evolution. God made you in his own image, and he has nipples too. The Intelligent Designer made Him (or Her) that way.

Probably the most intelligent answer I have ever encountered.

But you would think, if there really was a god, that He in His Infinite Wisdom would also have persuaded one of His disciples to market a 48AAA bra. One feels so unsupported without it.

Evolution cannot help unless men without nipples produce more surviving offspring than men with them.
If an intelligent designer created human kind there were other more important details he/she could have dealt with.
I am often surprised that the American TV can display half naked men displaying prominent breasts and nipples while if a woman's nipple is shown the whole nation trembles

Men have nipples (and are capable of producing breasts and even breast milk, given the right hormonal influences) because this tissue forms under genetic control early during embryonic development before the sex of the embryo is even otherwise apparent.

The developing body forms first as two flat sheets of cells, rather like a pair of dinner plates piled one on top of the another. These then roll up like a tube with the edges bending around to meet in the middle. You can imagine bending a flat sheet of paper to bring the left and right edges together, forming a tube.

The result is a tube inside a tube (because there are two layers) and, predictably, one becomes the gut through the centre and the outer layer becomes the surrounding skin.

Along the long-axis of the tube, embedded within the back, outer layer of this tube a structure called the "notochord" extends from the head end towards the tail end of the embryo. This induces the tissues above it to become regionally specified in a series of head-to-tail segments, a bit like the segments seen in a millipede.

These segments, or blocks, of tissue run individual genetic programmes that determine their developmental fate. This includes specifying that some of the structures will form nipples.

Since this genetic programme runs independently of the sex determining genes, then both boys and girls get nipples. But the breast tissue only develops into breasts proper under hormonal influences later in life, from puberty.

Thank ewe thank ewe everyone for your kind responses.

Fascinating that the gender is not determined till later. I thought it was the type of chromosome , either X or Y that the sperm carried that determined the sex .

The gender is determined genetically at conception. But the foetus doesn't begin to resemble a boy or a girl until later in development as the sex-determining genes begin to exert their effect.
