New Power Plant idea uses Fusion
« on: 19/07/2017 04:30:42 »
Here are two original ideas on how to create energy:

The one on the right is a method involvoing pre-cutting the ground above an underground explosive. The Explosive then pops the piece of earth out from the ground and weight can be lowered back into the cavity against a turbine or the cavity can be used and shaped for any number of purposes.

The drawing on the left is a power plant idea. An explosive is set off in the steel lining and the water in the cavity is shot up into the loop at the top. The water weight is then lowered back down into the cavity and spins a generator at the bottom.

Manufacturing explosives is an energy-intensive (and risky) process.

It is better to generate and consume energy at a steady rate than to produce huge bursts, and then have to release it slowly.

I don't see how the energy output from this process will be more than if you just took the input energy source and used it directly for useful purposes?

Lunar power is a good source of clean renewable energy; tidal power. Along the line of your design, picture a large heavy barge that is lifted by the high tide. This barge is designed to be lifted, but it can't drop when the tide goes out, unless the weight of the barge drives gears to spin a turbine. During the next high tide, the cycle repeats. This barge design could be built upon, for commercial and residential development and become self sufficient in terms of its own energy.

Fusion and fission are both useful fuels in this system, together or by themselves. The lasers they're working on will be capable of igniting pure fusion explosions. This system competes with current fission power plants as it is more efficient to burn the fuel in an explosion then the way they do it currently. Also the system itself could be up to 50% efficient which would compete with current boiler efficiency's.
