Is anxiety overdiagnosed?
« on: 26/11/2017 17:29:38 »
Many of us seems to suffer from chronic stress or anxiety at some point in their life. In this brave new world of psychiatric overdiagnosis, it appears the marketing of stress-related disorders is a highly profitable business. The normality of having psychological variations in our mood and behavior is strongly prohibited by socialism. Still, the idea that stress can be a source of mental disorders like depression is controversial. How can we measure the effects of stress on the human body without objective biological examinations?

What do you think?

Does it bother you that anxiety might be over-diagnosed?

Yes, it bothers me that every single variation in our mood and behavior is subject to becoming a mental disease!

In reality, the perfect life doesn't exist in this world. Stress is everywhere and everything can become a potential stress factor until you realize that you will never become someone else. It's easy to deny that life is hard, and accepting this fact is even harder for many of us. At least, finding true peace, love, and happiness is the only way (I found) to enhance my quality of life!

The difference is that anxiety is what your body feels, and stress is what your mind experiences.
At best, that's the wrong way round.

Is anxiety overdiagnosed? Is it? Really?

I haven't slept since I came across this question. I mean, suppose it is, then what? Or suppose it isn't - wouldn't that be worse?

If I feel anxious and go to the doctor, by the time I get there I may be more or less anxious than I was when I made the appointment, so what is he diagnosing? How I feel now or how I felt then? And is it the level of anxiety that matters, or the amount by which it varies?

And I voted Labour, so I'm responsible for everyone else's repressed anxiety. Is that a Bad Thing?

Are there any pills I can take? And pills for the side effects?

Or should I just stop listening to the news?
