Can you eat too many vegetables?
« on: 09/04/2018 09:32:15 »
Kumi asks:

Can one overdose on vegetables? Had to close shop after my customers ran from my 14 vegetable meals due to loose tummy.

What do you think?

If you have too much of anything it will kill you. But normal protective measures like feeling "full" discourage us from doing that too often...

Vegans manage to eat 100% vegetables without killing themselves.

What sort of vegetables were you serving?

Many people eat very small amounts of vegetables which means low intake of fibre. Suddenly changing from a low to high fibre diet can cause loose bowel movement, as can sudden large  intake of fruit.
Like Evan, I’d be interested to hear what vegetables you were putting in each serving and what other ingredients. For example pine nuts can cause a histamine reaction in many people resulting in loose bowel.

Except of this one ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube_headquarters_shooting#Perpetrator.
Vegans will have B12 deficiency, which can cause psychosis.

loose tummy
Another possible cause of loose tummy is bacterial contamination.
- Were the vegetables cooked or raw?
- Were they washed in filtered water?

Vegans will may have
.

Even the vegans acknowledge their diet needs to be supplemented with B12 ...
https://www.vegansociety.com/resources/nutrition-and-health/nutrients/vitamin-b12/what-every-vegan-should-know-about-vitamin-b12

So people who exist on vegetables alone, (no fermented / fortified foods), will have a diet which is deficient in B12.
