How do I remove/kill yellow fungus that has given me skin infection
« on: 18/02/2021 21:22:59 »
Discussed in previous forum on 'removing vaseline from skin'. Awaiting fungal skin culture results. 100% sure that it is a living thing, yellow fungus on the skin. Does anyone know about this because so far the dermatologist and doctors have proved to be completely useless. It's distressing enough buying a fungus off Amazon where you presumed they protected their consumers.

As a note I urge anyone to NEVER buy any cosmetic product off Amazon marketplace. I had inadvertantly bought from this third party seller as the product was out of stock on Amazon.

Anyone intelligent who studies skin infections that relate to funguses want to chip in? I'm a nice man but I'm only human and this has really been a bit much to cope with. Any information will be helpful.

Thank you

You aren't going to be happy with this reply but it's the only one you are likely to get (apart from spam).

You need medical advice from a doctor and or dermatologist (maybe a parasitologist and a mycologist).
Partly because they are the only ones who might be able to answer the questions but principally because they are the ones who can write prescriptions.
No competent practitioner is going to give you advice on the basis of a "consultation" over a discussion forum.

You might take some small comfort from knowing that someone I knew had "famous" feet- her feet appeared in some medical journal.
It had taken the doctors ages to workout that the cause of her problem was (iirc) a combination of athlete's foot and eczema.

Those are both common conditions but the combination is rare and hard to treat (essentially, the things you use to treat eczema damp down the immune system and make the fungal infection worse; but the antifungals irritate the skin and make the eczema worse.)

I am not saying I think you have the same thing.
What I am saying is that the doctors sometimes struggle to work out what's going on.

So you will have to persevere with them.

Hi Bored,

Thanks. That was a very informative response.

Thank you for writing all that. I didn't know very much about this and that is the start of the response I was looking for.

I will persevere and thanks for listening to me.
