Hi, first of all thank you for running and maintaining this site.  I was just wondering if you considered adding a  psychology thread?

it obvious the reason for not having a psychology thread. I think a  separate forum  for psychology is good , its obvious that only people who have psychology problems will be interested.

I think you're confusing psychiatric problems with conventional psychology. Psychology in general does not limit itself to mental disorders.

Physical sciences run very close to their practical application (engineering): many scientific investigations stem from product failure, and laboratory curiosities like lasers and radioactivity often turn out to have real-world uses.

I think the gulf between experimental psychology (rats in mazes, salivating dogs) and clinical psychology or psychiatry remains an embarrassment to their practitioners. Possibly because of the ethical problems involved in curiosity-driven human experimentation, or because we are generally happy with the average product and failures are too diverse to investigate in any controlled manner.

Even when we consider "normal" psychology, we are up against huge unknowns and uncontrollables. I can measure the properties of two pieces of metal cut from the same ingot, knowing that their thermal and mechanical histories are pretty well identical, so my measurements will be usefully predictive of the behavior of other samples; but the minds of even human twins are the product of entirely different environments and experiences, and knowing that you are a twin makes you abnormal anyway!

Also, you can make it into neuroscience, which is in this forum human body or something.
