Should I revert to windows 7
« on: 28/01/2019 23:24:49 »
With their pursuit of perfect security the Redmond sadists have added yet another level of security to version 18317.
I read today that security scams have averaged about £1.50 for each computer user in the UK last year , probably under reported as suckers don't like to admit how foolish they were but this pales into insignificance compared to the cost of IT time implementing all the security software.
When I spend an hour trying to get a weather satellite picture to display I get nostalgic for the time when the operating system of the computer fitted onto an 8" floppy disk or a roll of perforated paper tape.

You could just get a skin for your interface. Or put a second hard drive where the floppy disk drive used to go....that's what I like to do. Windows Vista boards have 1500 kbs of system cache and are better than windows 7 or xp computer boards....the only hard part is getting windows ten to work write on it.

A diligent hunt for rubbish using HitmanPro thru up some ransomware removing it reduced start-up time from 40 secs to 12 as good as replacing a hdd with with a ssd at zero cost

along with Java2 can do quite something for personal custome'

I would stay with the Win 10. From what I heard, they're going to stop updating Win 7 in near future..

Win 10 i'd say for other reasons !

1. FAT 64 is now the common jouralising
2. Win 10 being a good progressive development of the multi-core CPU OS systems and their bit throughput
3. Win 7 may even be a little rusty on hardware sizes and developments for the OS to rummage.
4. Standard hardware sizes and new developments can be held onto by recognition better.

Just need to get into the control panel and make it behave the same way in its GUI setting as 7 , and learn the control files off the system tab for environment variables.
