Is the Big Bang the only option?
« on: 01/07/2019 14:32:59 »
Daniel says:

"Dash wasn’t your ordinary guy, he was short. I mean his height was zero, and some said he was shallow but that’s ok because his depth was zero too.
See Dash lived in an infinite one dimensional world so all that mattered to him was length.
But unlike all the other dashes and dots in his world Dash was curious, Dash was a scientist.
Now Dash observed something that the others had little interest in, but it astounded him so much he theorised.
It makes no difference which of my 2 directions I look, everyone seems to be moving away from me. So I must conclude that if everyone is moving away in both directions then they must have all started in one place at one time.
The Big Dot.

Ok now as 3D beings we are as gods to Dash. So let’s play a little game he will not even perceive.
Let’s take his 1 dimensional world and wrap into the 2nd dimension. His world is infinite so we can’t make a circle so we’ll make a spiral.
Ok time for the mind experiment.
If we make one assumption – the conservation of angular momentum persists over inter dimensional barriers.
From our POV it’s obvious that the closer you get to the centre of the spiral the faster things move and visa-versa the further out the slower. Imagine stirring a coffee or an ice skater in a spin or the planets.
But from Dash’s POV regardless of which way he looks, because of the speed difference everything is moving away from him and the further away they are the faster they are receding.
Sort of sounds like the observed Red Shift that lead to the Big Bang??"

Your thoughts tend to follow my own. Check out my question concerning the Big Bang. abrooks051
