It's hard for me to pick any one animal. I can name quite a few that I find beautiful, such as metallic beetles (June bugs in particular), poison-dart frogs, the black-and-yellow argiope, the spiny and colorful Chilean harvestmen, and velvet ants.

I usually don't think of animals as being ugly, but... naked mole rats aren't the most attractive thing out there.

As the saying goes "only their mother could love them...".

Only in some species, the mother doesn't get to see the young hatch, while in other species, the mother pushes the young to go away...
