How effective would only the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine be
« on: 01/01/2021 09:00:25 »
It has been reported that there might be difficulties with the supply of the Pfizer vaccine , how effective would only the first dose be and how long could the time between the first and second shot be without affecting the performance ?

There are indications that the 12 weeks proposed is ok, but Pfizer are critical of that and want to stick with 21 days.
Note: the official announcements are avoiding talking about effectiveness of the single dose, so we don’t have clear data.

Theresa been talk of a less severe illness in most casas in a single dose senario, this I think is the critical decisive point. Even though estimates of complete immunity for a single dose are low according to sources, if these vaccines stop 90 percent severe illneßes this will alleviate the streß on the healthcare system. It will not stop the spread though so control measures will still be in effect.
