Throughout my country companies are phasing out printed transactions. Is it actually helpful? Is it greenwashing?

Dressing up everything as environmentally friendly regardless of whether it is or not.

A paper receipt is sequestered carbon, and paper manufacturers sensibly plant more trees than they cut down. A paperless transaction requires the continuous expenditure of electrical energy to maintain the legal record in a retrievable condition.

The oldest known written document is a Sumerian builder's invoice, probably 6000 years old. Can anyone read a 30-year-old floppy disc?

Depends if they put a label on it.

I quite like having a account or emailed receipts, I can always find them.
