Need something for the pain
« on: 08/09/2007 02:41:04 »
A tooth has split in half, half has fallen out, half still there. The pain is ...ahhh... Is there anything i can get over the counter to numb the tooth until i can be mugged by the dentist? I can't get an appointment until next week!

Soak a cotton ball in ambesol, put an aspirin directly on the tooth. You no doubt have an exposed nerve so buying the temporary filling will probably not work as it would probably pack down on the nerve. I heard something about a temporary cap for cover into the tooth... if all else fails go to the emergency room as it will get a lot worse if you get food down in there. They could probably do it there. I think in the pharmacy you can buy temporary covers for that kind of thing!

dry. it'll get wet when it's in your mouth though. the hospital could at least give you pain pills. but waiting for hours may not be worth it

You could get some dental wax it should be over the counter and cover the tooth with that!

it doesn't stick. i tried that. it stays on braces and dental work, but not very well on actual teeth. is it a molar or a front tooth, paul?

Thanks, but none of those will work. The tooth is in half, downwards, not sliced accross. kadie. the tealeaves would work on say a filling as it would make a sort of paste and cover the filling, but it will not work on my tooth.
Thanks anyway.
