Presented by Sebastian Lucas.
A 1953 autopsy specimen from an 82 year old lady who had been confined to bed for five days with pain in the upper abdomen. This eventually proved to be due to an empyema of the gall-bladder. She was got out of bed on the sixth day and taken to hospital by ambulance for an x-ray. On her return home she suddenly collapsed: death ensued several minutes later.
