Jejunal diverticulosis

Share

A 1967 autopsy specimen from a 60 year old woman admitted with abdominal distension, which had developed over the previous three weeks. She was found to have a large bowel obstruction and was in renal failure and died before operation could be performed. At post mortem the cause of the obstruction was a fibrous stricture of the sigmoid colon due to diverticulitis. The jejunal diverticulosis was an incidental finding.
