Congenital pulmonary stenosis

A 1969 autopsy specimen from a woman of 56 who had a history of 5 years of increasing breathlessness. Eighteen months before she died she had pain in the calf and chest. A year later swelling of the ankles first appeared. She next developed pain in the abdomen and in the chest and developed congestive cardiac failure. She died of renal failure.
