Cardiac Pathology: Heart: Congenital: Tetralogy of Fallot
01 May 2011
A 1948 autopsy specimen from a four month old girl who was noticed to breathe rapidly from birth, having cyanotic attacks when she cried, and always having "a slight cough". Ten days before death she became worse, more cyanosed without relief, a temperature and physical signs of bronchitis developing. Death ensued from broncho-pneumonia, no response to therapy having taken place.
